My favorite part about the second year of bschool was having so many opportunities to give back to the Stern community, especially the GMA. On a typical day, I was meeting with MBA1’s to talk about my brand management internship experience, working in the Career of Office Development, and collaborating with members of the GMA Knowledge Management team to plan the next KM session. All this in between going to some pretty amazing classes that will be immediately applicable to my job after graduation, like Data Driven Decision Making. Not a bad way to spend a day!

I gained many useful skills during my first “career” but realized I wanted to be in both a different industry (Spirits) and different function (Marketing). I knew Stern, with its location and growing network in spirits marketing, would be the best place for me to successfully transition.

(If you are too young for the Ray Kinsella reference, please watch “Field of Dreams”…)

If you build a great marketing plan, consumers will come.

What was your favorite GMA event of the year?

The Francis Ford Coppola Wine event. We spoke with an executive about the company's trade and consumer marketing strategies and were able to do a tasting. It was a great experience to discuss a product in a very fragmented industry that has many regulatory challenges.

What was your favorite GMA event of the year?

"I loved getting to know alumni in a fun setting at the Alumni Mixer. It was at Barolo, a trendy SoHo restaurant. I made some good connections and it was nice to see alumni reconnecting. I look forward to attending these events after I graduate." ~Michelle Berson, Full-Time MBA Class of 2014 Twitter: @MaBelle527
